(Social studies in this case is mainly applied psychology.) Some controversial views expressed in both this and education.
ARTICLES ON EDUCATION AND SOCIAL STUDIES
The book is 115 pages.
The first section is a critical look at our education system, both secondary and higher.
Two thirds of the book, however, may be described as ‘applied psychology’. Among the many things it discusses are:
a) Ideas about repressed aggression – with reference to Encounter groups (which were all the rage a generation ago, but seem to have fallen out of favour).
b) A suggestion that we try to learn from our ancestors (thousands of years ago), in an attempt to overcome some of the destructive lifestyles we are often guilty of in our time.
